What is The Lore of V Rising? | The Great War
The story of V Rising tells how and by whom the pact between humans and vampires was broken. When you think of a vampire ambitious enough to disrupt a centuries-old order, you should think of Dracula. The war, which is called The Great War, begins with Dracula's rebellion against the possession of all lands and properties by human beings, while the vampires are condemned to live in the shadows, limited and restrained.
Power of Light
In this war, vampires loot entire villages, kill ruthlessly and have no mercy for anything that belongs to humankind. So many people die that it is thought to be the end of the nation. At this very moment, humanity's last calls for help and hope are answered by a mystical power. People who learn to use the power of light attack the vampires with this power and quickly gain the position of attack.
Retreating to escape the light, the vampires build the Dark Barrier with their last strength. This barrier manages to keep humans out, but confines the vampires to a restricted area. They are also deprived of food and power sources, as their access to the outside world is cut off. This causes the vampire race to go into a state of sleep that will last for centuries.
Time for Revenge
While vampires sleep, humankind continues to evolve. Since they have no enemies to direct the power of the light in their hands, they begin to conflict among themselves.
