Red Dead Redemption 2 Story
It's also beautifully written and full of drama. It's one of those rare games where you can connect with all the characters and get upset when something happens to them.
Loyalty
The Van der Linde gang is forced to leave their substantial cash stash and flee Blackwater after a botched ferry heist in 1899. Realizing that the age of outlaws is drawing to a close, they decide to amass enough wealth to flee the law and retire. Cornwall hired Pinkertons to apprehend them after they robbed a train owned by him. The gang works to make money, and Dutch promises that the next heist will be their last. The gang relocates to Lemoyne after a shootout with Cornwall's men in Valentine, where they work for both the Grays and the Braithwaites in an attempt to turn them against each other. The Grays, on the other hand, murder a gang member during an ambush, while the Braithwaites kidnap and sell Jack to Bronte. Before retrieving Jack from Bronte, who offers them work leads but eventually double-crosses them, the gang retaliates and destroys both families. As retaliation, Dutch kidnaps him and feeds him to an alligator, which irritates Arthur.
Everything Goes Wrong
The Pinkertons intervene, killing Hosea and arresting John after the gang robs a bank in Saint Denis. Dutch, Arthur, Bill, Javier, and Micah board a ship bound for Cuba to flee the city. The ship is sunk by a violent storm, and the men wash ashore on the island of Guarma, where they become embroiled in a conflict between the tyrannical sugar plantation owner Fussar and the enslaved locals. After assisting the revolutionaries in the assassination of Fussar, the group arranges transportation back to the United States and rejoins the rest of the gang.
After Arthur disobeys him by liberating John earlier than planned and naming Micah as his top lieutenant in Arthur's place, Dutch obsesses over one last heist and doubts Arthur's loyalty. Arthur is concerned that Dutch is no longer the man he once knew, that he is becoming insular, that he is abandoning their ideals, and that he is murdering Cornwall. When he is diagnosed with tuberculosis, he is faced with his mortality. Following his death, Arthur reflects on his actions and how to protect the gang, telling John to flee with Abigail and Jack and openly defying Dutch by assisting the local Native Americans. When the Pinkertons attack the camp, Dutch suspects a gang member is acting as an informant. Several gang members become disgruntled and leave, while Dutch and Micah plan a final heist involving an Army payroll train.
Hardest Choice
When Dutch abandons Arthur to the Army, leaves John for dead, and refuses to rescue Abigail when she is kidnapped, Arthur's faith in him is shattered. Before Abigail kills Micah, Arthur and Sadie save Abigail from Milton, who names Micah as the Pinkertons' informer. When Arthur returns to camp, he accuses Micah of betrayal openly. The standoff is broken when Pinkertons attack, and Dutch, Bill, Javier, and Micah turn on Arthur and a newly returned John. The player can have Arthur aid John's escape by delaying the Pinkertons, or he can have Arthur return to the camp to recover the gang's money. Micah ambushes Arthur, and Dutch steps in to save the day.Arthur persuades Dutch to leave Micah behind. Arthur succumbs to his injuries and disease and dies while watching the sunrise if the player has high honor; if the player has low honor, Micah executes him.
