Diablo 2 Review

Of course, I began playing the series a bit too late. I'm exactly the same age as this series. Growing up, I heard the legends of this game around me, but I could never play it. It was always a very distant game to me, but all my gamer friends had tasted this legend once. Although it is a legendary series and game, it is not my thing to play Blizzard games in 2022, still.

Is it like before?

Here, we will talk about the remake, not the original. I still don't know exactly what I think about Diablo 2: Resurrected. This series isn't as good as I remembered it as a kid, but it's still a very good game. Yes, if you are a player of the same age as this series, you must have heard the praise of this game everywhere you talk about games. There are even those who say that this game is not for you and that it has a great game.

Guess what? I grew up, and this game has been completely remastered and polished for me. However, this enhancement and polishing didn't seem to make much of a difference. because the improvements are both good and bad. The game definitely feels old in terms of gameplay. I can't say that it gets better with age, like wine.

One of the gamers' favorite improvements in this remake will definitely be gamepad support. Apart from that, keeping your loot in common storage and automatic gold collection are among the good improvements they have made. Other than that, the producers seem to be afraid to change the game further. Because the gameplay is still very old and when you die, you still have to run naked to the place where you dropped the items with 0 items on you.

A quality remake

Still, I can definitely say that it is a quality remake of this game. It might be more accurate to call it a remake that has been faithful to its essence. Our game has completely preserved the art design of the years it was released. I'm calling it a remake because I don't think it would be right to call it a remaster. The original game has been preserved, but the hardware has been seriously updated and rebuilt.

Aesthetically, it was a very successful remake. I would like to congratulate the producers on this. Combining clean and modern lighting with original pixel art is not for every creator. The most important thing is the feeling. This game definitely gives the players the feeling of a game that came out in the 2000s. Even if this is seen as a minus for some players, it is a nice detail for fans of the series.

Fast but simple.

The game is really fast. The whole map is full of chaos and mayhem. However, this is not a bad pacce. On the contrary, it is a fascinating pace. Despite being so complicated, it has incredibly simple gameplay.

Is Diablo 2 worth playing?

As I wrote before, this game hasn't aged very well in my opinion. Maybe if I had played this game when it first came out (in the 2000s), my opinion would have been different. However, even if they put this game in front of me as a remake, it will be a very old game for me. It's a great detail that they preserved the art design. It's nice that they tried to keep the gameplay the same, but it seems like they couldn't do it the way they wanted. Diablo 2 starts to look like a relic after a while, and when you get to that point, you don't want to continue the game.
