You will first need to locate three hexagon pieces scattered around the lake. These pieces will be required later in the puzzle.
Piece A Location
You can find the first piece in a chest located across Merchant of Chapter 3.
Piece B Location
The Fish Farm's north side has the second piece. To find the treasure chest, jump into the water and cross the bridge.
Piece C Location
The third piece can be found in a small cave shrine to the northeast of the lake. To get to the next room, you will need to solve this puzzle. Inside the briefcase is the piece.
After you have all three Hexagon pieces found, go to the dock where the boat was first discovered. Chapter 4 will appear once you've found all the pieces. Once you do, go to the right side of the ladder leading to the Fish Farm to see the Hexagon Puzzle.
You should not attempt to solve this problem by trying to jumble up pieces. The solution is quite close to the starting point and requires only two pieces. If you have spent some time with it and have made changes to the pieces, you can save the game at the nearest typewriter. It will reset the puzzle so that you don't have to start over.
Once you have the images aligned, rotate the lower-left triangle of pieces once, and then rotate the upper-center trio two times. This will align all images correctly and create the desired image.
If you are still having difficulty, you can brute force it through. The trick is to place the item you wish to move in its center. You can then use the outer parts to position the piece in the proper spot. Continue this process until you are able to reposition each piece in the right spot.
You will be awarded a Deprived Idol in exchange for your troubles. It can be sold at the Merchant for 15,000 Pesetas. You don't have to complete this puzzle to advance the story. That's a lot to pesetas, which can lead you to all sorts of goodies.
