Elden Ring Spirit Ashes and Summons

Elden Ring Spirit Ashes and Summons

Spirit Ashes are obtained when you defeat enemies in Elden Ring. As you progress through the game, you will encounter Skills like the ability to summon fallen enemies' spirits and call their fallen souls to aid you in combat.

In addition to your Skills, Spells and Weapons, Spirit Summons are called another combat feature at your service. This combat feature gives you more options for how you approach certain situations. But it's a singleplayer-only feature. You can't summon spirits if you're playing in a cooperative / PvP session.

How to summon spirits in Elden Ring?

To summon Spirits, first find the Spirit Caller's Ash. Once you have it in your inventory, the ash can be used to summon the chosen spirit to assist you in combat. (Spirit Ash Summons do not work the same way as the Skills.)

Notes:

  • Summoning Spirits usually consume FP. You can only summon one spirit at a time.
  • You can summon spirits only in specific places and they will disappear if you cross the specific boundary.
  • You can summon spirits once per boss encounter.

Spirit Summons and Locations

Wandering Noble Ashes

Wandering Noble Ashes summons five zombies with independent life bars. They can attack at melee range. Probably the weakest summons in the entire game. They move slowly, can't land a proper hit on the enemies and die easily.

  • Where to find Wandering Noble Ashes: Found in Limgrave's Stormfoot Catacombs. Loot the body behind the second flamethrowing machine.

Lone Wolf Ashes

Lone Wolf Ashes summons three wolves. Each has independent life bars and can attack enemies at melee range. Its name is quite ironic though. As they move around quite often, they dodge often. Thus they die less often.

  • Where to find Lone Wolf Ashes: Purchased from Merchant Kale at Church of Ellen

Noble Sorcerer Ashes

Noble Sorcerer ashes summons a Sorcerer who can use spells and move to attack enemies far away. The summoned Noble Sorcerer is quite slow and doesn't attack often. It serves only as a temporary distraction. However, it might not be the best idea to use it for the purpose of defeating enemies.

  • Where to find Noble Sorcerer Ashes: Purchased from Merchant Kale at Church of Ellen

Northern Mercenary Ashes

Summons a powerful mercenary. Armed with a curved cleaver, this spirit can deal a lot of damage at melee distance. Could be one of the strongest summons in the game.

  • Where to find Northern Mercenary Ashes: Looted off the corpse in the Murkwater Catacombs.

Spirit Jellyfish Ashes

Summons a giant stationary Jellyfish, capable of executing ranged and melee attacks to enemies nearby.

Spirit Jellyfish floats and moves slowly. Although it can withstand many attacks, it takes a long time to attack enemies. And this attack can easily be interrupted. So it's best to use this spirit as a shield when facing bosses or tough enemies.

  • Where to find Spirit Jellyfish Ashes: Looted from a corpse in Stormhill, to the northwest where all the gravestones are located.
